End of the Season Slideshow!

This slideshow was created by one of our very talented photo guides and was shown at the end of the season party. I would say that it perfectly sums up what my summer in Juneau was like. See if you can spot me!

Goodbye, Juneau!

All good things come to an end, and my time in Juneau Alaska is now up. It's time to take my earnings and go.

I think I did pretty well this summer!

 Room's all packed up.

We had a great big end of the season party for all the guides who remained.. nothing but great food, great drinks, and great people to share it with!

Being in Alaska was a lot of fun. During my last night there, the sky decided to put on a magnificent show, as if it were tempting me not to leave.

Then sun getting ready to set in a creamy orange sky.

 The sky glowing ruby orange.

Amazing pink clouds streak across the sky.

And the show is finished off with a beautiful shimmering horizon. These pictures don't even begin to do this sunset justice.

There are so many stories left untold about this wild and awe-inspiring landscape, and there are still so many yet to come. Juneau Alaska will forever be a part of me, and I can't wait to see what happens next year.

Goodbye, Juneau, but not farewell!

Mushroom MADNESS!!

Throughout the season, I have seen a LOT of mushrooms. I have no idea what most of them even are, so I'm really just posting these for fun. If anyone can help identify any of these, go on right ahead!

Dog vomit.

Tiny orange mushrooms.

A shelf fungus known as Artist's conch or Bear's bread.

Amanita muscaria var. formosa.

Purple milkcaps.

Wrinkly mushrooms.

Tiny white mushrooms.

White saucers.

Long stem!

Dark mushrooms.

Feathery mushrooms.

Bleeding tooth fungus, or Strawberries and cream. This is a really cool fungus.. it oozes some strange red liquid, and no one knows what it does or why. Eventually the fungus transforms into a flat brown and black saucer with white edges.

Transformation!

Honey mushroom?

The sickener.

More tiny white mushrooms!

Bright yellow cup fungus.. incredibly common this season!

This large mushroom had sticky pores under its cap.

Another mushroom!

Glistening orange mushrooms.

Group of tan mushrooms.

This mushroom reminds me of a drum.

Orange coral fungus.

Dead man's fingers.

Strange brown cup.

Dark brown flaky fungus.

Copper mushrooms.

Flat little mushroom.

Some-what yellow capped mushroom.

These mushrooms were in two neat little rows.

Big purplish mushrooms.

Sunny mushrooms.

Green spot!

...And one last big red mushroom.

So there you have it. That's exactly what you get when you save up 4 month's worth of mushroom pictures.
