More Adventures With Mom!

My mom and I got the AMAZING opportunity of going on a helicopter tour recently above the glaciers! And we even landed on a couple of them! We took a TON of pictures, so brace yourselves. These are just a few of them!

But first, some videos!

Our helicopter arrives!

Inside the helicopter!

On top of Herbert Glacier!

And now for some pictures!

Special glacier shoes!

I got to strap these things onto my XtraTufs instead.

The helicopter arrives! We're ready to go!

All strapped in.

Soaring over Juneau!

Glaciers! We flew over Eagle Glacier, landed on Herbert, and then landed on Mendenhall.

They almost look like a road! That line on the middle is made of crushed earth when two ice masses press together.

Looking into a deep hole on top of Herbert Glacier. It was completely filled with water! We dropped a rock in and quickly lost sight of it.

A dog sled camp on top of the Mendenhall Glacier! You can see a sled with a team of dogs toward the top of the camp in the center of the picture, and another one off to the right side.

The helicopter on top of the Mendenhall Glacier.

Looking into a deep crevasse on Herbert Glacier.

Suicide Falls. This is where all that water that flooded the lake came from.

Looking into a crack in the ice.

A river used to run through the ice right here.

A deep tunnel through the ice.

Momma dancing on the glacier!

Posing in front of the helicopter.

Mom straddles the crevasse for a better picture while Ben the helicopter pilot keeps an eye on her.

Having fun!

Mom takes a sip of fresh glacial water from Herbert glacier.

What an ADVENTURE! Probably one of the best experiences we ever had! :)
