Ski Lessons

Welcome to Eaglecrest!

This is the ski mountain in Juneau. It's awesome because it's only a short drive from out house and we can pretty much go whenever we want!

These are the slopes that I did today. They're beginner slopes, which is perfect for me!

Got my gear and I'm ready to go!

I join my instructor on the lift and up we go!

It started snowing pretty hard as we ascended.

I'm off the lift and following my instructor. I actually have met him before- he's a guide and driver with us at our summer guiding job! A lot of guides instruct winter sports during the winter and lead tours during the summer.

Skiing down the slopes! We practiced maintaining a constant speed by utilizing turns.

After the lesson, Jonny and I had some time to take to the slopes!

Jonny looks like a snow ninja! He is an excellent snowboarder and can take on any run on the mountain.

There was about an inch of fresh powder on the ground that we got to enjoy. Isn't the mountain beautiful?

We left as the sun started to set at 3:30. Unfortunately, the mountain is not lit, so it has to close.

We sure had an amazing time! My lessons are going very well, and I'm graduating from the Porcupine lift to the Hooter lift, which will give me longer runs. I'll let you all know how it goes!

See you next time!
