The sun came out a little bit yesterday, so I decided to take a drive "out the road" while Jonny was at work. Out the road means when you drive down the main road past the valley.
My first stop was the Shrine of St. Therese.
The trail continues out to an island.
There's a little chapel located on the island.
A large cross overlooks the cliffside by the ocean.
Here's the inside of the chapel.
The cloud patterns over the water were spectacular.
Snow covered the rocks all the way up to the intertidal zone.
You can see the snow-capped Chilkats on the horizon.
Such beautiful mountains!
Further down the road, you can see small tree-covered islands off the coast.
On the side of the road, the snow was piled up so high that I couldn't walk up to the trees without sinking several feet into it.
Winter is slowly turning into spring! I can't wait to see the moss and flowers again!
Dear Audrey, We have enjoyed your photos so very much. They are just breathtaking! It is wonderful to be able to view the pristine and unspoiled territory. I know you and Jonny are enjoying life in Alaska,I can tell by the activities and comments of the photos. We are so happy for you. Enjoy this special time.
